About Grays Recreational Trust
Registered with the charity commission of England & Wales Number 265896
Grays Recreational Trust (formerly known as the Grays Public Purposes and Recreational Charity) was originally formed in 1984 when The Grays Recreational football ground was sold. After all legal expenses the remaining balance of £66,390 was invested into the charity. The Charity Commissioners decreed that only the Interest from the Capital could be used for Charity work.
The Trust was set up for the benefit of sporting and worthy activities for the people, organisations and teams based within the Thurrock area.
Since its inauguration, the Trust has made, within the boundaries of Thurrock, over 500 donations to various causes, and distributed some £650,000 up to the present time.
All of our grants must benefit the people of Thurrock
The Grays Recreational Trust is a small local Charity set up in 1984 with only a limited capital base and as such requests in excess of £750 are beyond our ability to consider at this moment in time.
